Statement
Art is a narrative of identity where one can express oneself through creativity. As artists, we inspire one another and look to the past to create in the present, further inspiring future generations. Through mediums like acrylics and digital applications, I like exploring both personal and social topics that speak to me. Whether influenced by a political movement or a personal concept, these works reflect my perspective as an artist. Some of the subjects that are close to me that I have translated through art include works about feminism, identity, relationships, and queer history.
For my personal vision, I want to explore the process of evolution in identity. Our identities are always changing and are malleable to the things around us. I have a hard time identifying with labels or who I am. I want to explore being at peace with this fluidity of being oneself. Social, political, and personal influences transform us through the course of time. Ideas I want to interpret through my works include life and death, the circle of life, stages of organisms, fluidity, eternity, and metamorphosis. I want to translate this concept through organic nature-inspired forms.
Exploring this vision will help me grow as a person and an artist, showing how I am at peace with my growth and will be continuously evolving.
